Carr Lot Productions Mission Statement

  • Make work that has a societal significance (never creating true crime for true crime sake).

  • Partnering with the best production companies and networks that can push us and our work to greater depths.

  • Making films that showcase the systemic pressure that women and people of color face.

  • Employing fantastic people, lifting them up, letting them own their work.

  • Seeking empathy in all ways.

  • Work that is journalistically rigorous.

  • Never pretending like we know the beginning, middle or end of a story (letting the story show itself).

  • Working as a director, executive producer, and consultant.

  • Working with fantastic editors and being vocal about the work that they have done. Not taking credit away from someone else (there is a sea change on this in the documentary world, which is important and necessary).

  • Work with talented and upcoming directors/producers to realize their ideas.

  • Creating viral content that serves as a debate (hello twitter)

  • Rooting for other's work loudly and proudly, especially POC and female directors

Carr Lot Productions is based out of

New York City.

“The trick of enjoying New York is not to be so busy grinding your way to the center of the earth that you fail to notice the sparkle of the place, a scale and a kind of wonder that puts all human endeavors in their proper place.” -The Night of the Gun, David Carr
